Opening August 12, 2015, Those Women staged the world premiere of Disclosure at PianoFight in San Francisco. PianoFight is a full service restaurant and bar with a cabaret stage and two intimate theaters, located three blocks from the Powell Street BART. For decades, Maya has kept silent about the abuse she suffered as a child at the hands of her uncle. Now she seeks to disclose the truth, confront the past, and move on.  In the meantime, her son Adam is entirely wrapped up in a new romantic relationship with Janice – the graduate teaching assistant in one of his college classes. Maya, resenting her own mother’s failure to protect her, is vigilant where her only child is concerned. Is Adam and Janice’s relationship exploitative? Maya is determined to stand up against abuses past and present, but every step she takes leads her deeper into conflict with the people she loves the most.


Anne Hallinan (Anna) is delighted to be performing in Carol Lashof’s Disclosure, having participated in earlier readings. She has worked at Shotgun Players, Cutting Ball, Berkeley Rep, Boxcar Theatre, theatre Q, Stanford Repertory Theater, El Teatro Campesino, TheatreFIRST, and Bay Area Children’s Theater, among others, and is a former company member of Woman’s Will and the San Francisco Mime Troupe. On-camera, she has appeared in four independent features, including the award-winning White Rabbit, and several shorts, including The Ten Plagues, now on the festival circuit. Gabe Kenney (Adam) is thrilled to make his Pianofight and Those Women Productions debut with Disclosure. An SF native and graduate of Willamette University’s Theatre program, he’s a practicing Actor & Fight Choreographer in the Bay Area. He’s studied at San Francisco’s American Conservatory Theater and performed with them in productions of Time on Fire and The Time of Your Life. He’s also studied under Larry Silverburg’s True Acting Institute, studying Meisner technique. His recent acting credits include Hang On with Theatre Dinamundo and the immersive theatre experience Speakeasy, both world premieres. Recent fight choreography credits include Shakespeare’s R&J with NCTC, and Theatre Madcap’s True West. He will soon be playing the roles of both Jason and Creon in Medea with The Breadbox later in October.

Kelly Rinehart (Janice) was introduced to Carol’s work in the 2013 Olympians Festival and is ever so pleased to be working with one of her texts again. She’s also worked with other Bay Area companies including Custom Made, Dragon, Hillbarn, Los Altos Stage, Pear, Ragged Wing, and Ross Valley. She was privileged to portray Ivy in August: Osage County at Contra Costa Civic Theatre, for which she was nominated as a 2014 TBA Award Finalist. In November, she can be seen in Clybourne Park at Palo Alto Players. By day, Kelly works as a teaching artist and speech-language pathologist/AAC specialist. She also likes to play outside. Valerie Weak (Maya) is happy to collaborate with the team at Those Women Productions for the first time. Valerie has acted with many Bay Area theaters including CenterREP and Shotgun Players and plays Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet for San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, running concurrently with Disclosure. A few favorite roles include Lisa in indie film The Snake, presented by Patton Oswalt at SXSW in 2009, and the title role in Macbeth for Women’s Will, the Bay Area’s now disbanded all-female Shakespeare company. Playwright and Director

Carol S. Lashof is Cofounder and Playwright-in-Residence at Those Women Productions. Her plays have been broadcast on BET and NPR and staged on five continents—from the Magic Theatre in San Francisco to Peking University in Beijing. Recent full-length plays include Just Deserts and Disclosure, both produced by Those Women Productions.  “After the Prologue” was first performed by Woman’s Will. “When Briseis Met Chryseis” was developed with the help of the San Francisco Olympians Festival. Carol holds a PhD from Stanford University and is Professor Emerita at Saint Mary’s College. She is a member of the International Centre of Women Playwrights and the Dramatists Guild of America.

Rem Myers (Director) is a director, producer, dramaturg, and teacher. He has directed several workshops/staged readings at the Cutting Ball Theater, where he is an associate artist, including Caught, Hamletmachine, A Murder of Crows, The Oresteia, and A Slight Ache. He has directed for PianoFight, Theater Pub, the Young Playwrights Project (TheaterWorks), various independent productions, and the One Minute Play Festival (Playwrights Foundation) where he had the fortune of meeting and working with Carol Lashof for the first time. When he is not theatering, he teaches at the Urban School of San Francisco.

Production and Design

James Ard (Music and Sound Designer) has been a theatre soundmaker since The Dark Room let him play MP3s during open-mic improv shows as a child. As of late, James has been designing sound and making noises for performances around the Bay Area. Recent designs include The Clean House with the Ross Valley Players, Cock and From White Plains at the New Conservatory Theatre Center, and We Are Proud To Present A Presentation with Just Theater. James’ sounds can be heard regularly as a part of Shotgun Players’ Champagne Reading Series.

Emily Ann Holtzclaw (Costume Designer) is a recent graduate from San Francisco State University majoring in Theatre Arts emphasizing in Costume Design and Stage Management. Her most recent design was Into the Woods at SFSU. It is her first time working with Those Women Productions, and it has been such a pleasure working with some wonderful, talented people.

Gabi Immelman (Scenic Designer) is an award-winning theatre-maker new to the US and biking the bay area. She considers herself to be freelance adventurer and theatre-maker and a full time awesome person! She has worked as producer, production manager, stage manager and as a props and scenic designer. Her works include the South African national award-winning productions of The Seagull and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Her recent work includes Nancy Carlin and Micheal Rasbury’s Max Understood (produced by the Paul Dresher Ensemble), Faultline Theatre’s production of Shiner and Marin Theatre Company’s Children’s Production of Mary Poppins and 101 Dalmatians.

Noah Kramer (Props Master) is a professional Prop Master in the Bay Area. He is a graduate of University of California: Santa Cruz.

JinAh Lee (Stage Manager) is a freelance stage manager in the bay area who has been working for various types and sizes of performing art productions. She has BAs in Theater and Psychology from UC Berkeley where she was involved with After the War Blues (2014), Rabbit Hole (2014) and 2015 Berkeley Dance Project (2015). Recently, JinAh has worked with Theatre Rhino, All Terrain Theater and FaultLine Theater for their play productions. In addition to stage managing, she also worked as an assistant production manager for ballet Swan Lake (2012) with Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. Molly Stewart-Cohn (Lighting Designer) is a Berkeley native and a graduate of Vassar College. Her designs have been seen at Berkeley Playhouse, NCTC, and ACT Conservatory. She works as a freelance lighting technician, and is currently the master electrician at SF Playhouse.

Elizabeth Vega (Managing Artistic Director) holds a BA in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College and an MFA in Staging Shakespeare (emphasis directing) from Exeter University. Now a professional drama teacher, math tutor, and director, she has worked around the Bay Area for such organizations as the CalShakes Summer Conservatories, Berkeley Rep School of Theatre, and the San Francisco Olympians Festival.

Colin Wheeler (Graphic Designer) is an animator and future professor of new media. He’s getting a Ph.D. in Moving Image Studies at Georgia State University with a focus on animation, critical visual cultural studies, industry practices and production. His MFA in Animation from the Savannah College of Art and Design allows him to work practically as well as theoretically. Moonlighting as a freelance animator and puppet fabricator, Colin has assisted in a variety of productions in the Atlanta area. He currently works for the Tobacco Centers of Regulatory Science (TCORS) designing counter tobacco advertisements.
